Our Lakes

We are the exclusive outfitter on Davin and Wathaman lakes. Davin Lake Lodge is a full-service "American Plan" facility; all meals are included in the package price. Wathaman Lake Outpost is a "Light Housekeeping" facility; lunches are provided and guests provide their own breakfast and dinner. Both facilities include shared guide services and professional filleting and freezing of the fish you choose to take home. Davin and Wathaman lakes are very large, very diverse lakes--over 800 miles of shoreline await, offering virtually every type of fishing including shallows, river, and deep water. Anglers that fish our lakes use virtually any type of equipment, including baitcast, spinner, and fly rods--in fact, a 44 inch Northern Pike was caught with a fly rod!

Note: Our policy is catch and release for all trophy fish. This program results in larger fish caught and released by all. This policy has already resulted in an increased number of trophy-class caught now and for future generations.

Davin Lake is a large (40 square mile), extremely diverse lake that ranges from shallows to 150 feet deep, providing opportunities to fish Northern Pike, Walleye and Lake Trout. Davin lake is made up of a number of different water bodies that, taken as a whole, comprise what we call Davin.

Davin Lake Lodge is located about a mile from the main road.  The lodge is adjacent to our private 1,800 foot airstrip at the edge of Davin Lake. Breakfast and dinner are served at the lodge each day, and guests gather around the fire each night after dinner to socialize and discuss the day's fishing. The lodge offers a tackle and gift shop, and alcoholic beverages are also available.

Davin Lake Lodge

We have 6 cabins that house up to 6 people each, plus a main lodge where breakfast and dinner are served.  Each cabin has a flush toilet inside and hot and cold running water. There are two bedrooms, one with a double bed and the other with 4 bunk beds.  The front sitting room has a sleeper sofa and kitchen area with a refrigerator, stove, table and chairs.

Each cabin has propane heat and 24 hour electricity.  Close to the cabins are 3 central showers. In the front of the cabins are fire pits, horse shoes, and a picnic table for activities and relaxing after a day of fishing.  Check at the lodge for other  evening activities that may be available. Alcoholic beverages are available in the main lodge, as is a well stocked tackle shop.  You can park your vehicle next to your cabin.

Ready for breakfast!

It is a short walk from the cabins and lodge to the boat dock.  Boats are fueled and cleaned each morning, ready for each new day. Our boats, which accommodate two people each, are 14 foot aluminum deep hull Lunds with swivel seats and a 9.9 HP Johnson outboard motor.  Your guide will give you directions each day on where to meet for shore lunch, including GPS coordinates.  The guides are experts on our lakes and are your resource for suggestions and ideas to make your fishing trip a success.  At 6:00 pm when you return to the dock, the guides professionally fillet and freeze your catch for your trip home. Phone service is available at the lodge in case of emergency and guides have radios for contact with the lodge.

Wathaman Outpost

Wathaman Outpost

Wathaman Lake Map (click for high-res version)

Wathaman is an experience that even the most seasoned angler will relish. Wathaman is even larger than Davin lake (60 square miles), and although it does not offer the deep water of Davin, Wathamans Walleye and Northern Pike fishing is unparalleled. Due to its remote nature and even larger size (20 square miles larger), Wathaman is fished even less than Davin.

Wathaman Outpost is a remote camp on Wathaman Lake accessible from Davin Lake by pontoon boat and portage (no plane trip required).  The trip from Davin takes approximately one hour. Guests of Wathaman park their vehicles at Davin Lake Lodge during their stay.

There is one duplex cabin at the Outpost that houses up to 12 people (six per side).  Each cabin has a bedroom with 6 bunk beds.  The front room has a kitchen area with a propane stove and refrigerator, table and chairs and a sofa bed.  Each cabin has propane heat and hot and cold running water.  All cooking and serving utensils are provided.  Each cabin has a propane grill outside with a picnic table on the deck area, and fire pits are available in front of the cabins.  Flush toilets and hot showers are to the back of the cabins via a wooden walkway.  Boats are stored at the lake’s shore just in front of the cabins. When you return to camp at 6:00 pm your guide will professionally fillet and freeze your catch for your trip home.
