Dates and Rates

Davin Lake Lodge and Wathaman Outpost operate continuously from June 1st through the end of September. Each month offers very different fishing challenges and rewards. Early season offers more aggressive fish and few weeds, although the average size of the fish is smaller due to the early season. Beginning in July the fish get steadily larger as they bulk up over the summer, and the biggest fish are generally caught in late summer and fall (August and September).

Weather is generally very pleasant throughout the season, with high temperatures never reaching much past 80 degrees F (about 26 C). There are of course rainy days, and the fishing is generally best during these overcast periods.

Rotations: we operate our camps on five day "rotations", although we can generally accomodate custom dates depending on availability. Our calendar below shows these rotations. Each rotation begins with guests arriving the afternoon of the first day, and fishing days begin on the second day of the rotation. The last day of the rotation is departure day, with guests packing up and departing around 9am. For example, rotation 1 begins on June 1st and ends on June 6th. Guests arrive late afternoon or evening on June 1 and fish four full days, June 2-5, and depart the morning of June 6. Rotation 2 then begins on June 6 for the next group of guests.

Davin Lake Lodge guests can choose from the standard American Plan (all meals) or Limited Housekeeping Plan (shore lunches only) at any time. Wathaman Outpost is always a Limited Housekeeping facility, although we can arrange an American Plan for large groups that book the entire Outpost.

Payment and deposit: we accept Mastercard, Visa, Checks and Money Orders for package payment. At the camp, we accept cash and traveler's checks only. We require a $200 USD depost per person in order to secure your reservation. Reservations will be confirmed in writing - please allow two weeks.

Note: If paying by credit card, processing fees (2.5%) will be added to your bill.

Children: 50% off, 12 and under, providing they do not require special equipment and services.

Floatplane Packages

If you have a group of four or more and wish to fly directly to Davin Lake or Wathaman Outpost, you can take advantage of our specially priced fly-in package. The total cost for the packages below, plus round-trip floatplane transportation from Saskatoon, is $2,350 plus taxes. For more information, click the specials button to the left.

Bus Trip Packages

We have two special bus trips each season that depart from Melfort, SK. Packages include round-trip transportation from Melfort to Davin Lake. For more information, click the specials button to the left.
